Welcome Back Everyone!!

It’s show time again, so dust off your boots and your furry friends and start thinking Rockie Mountain Saddle Club. We are ready to begin our new 2015 show season with some exciting new changes. We have added some new classes to each of our shows. Ribbons will be given for these new events but they will not count towards the year end high point awards. We have added Hunter Hack to our English Show which offers a chance to try a class over fences. We will be offering Ranch Horsemanship in the western show, and we are introducing additional new Gymkhana patterns from the California Gymkhana Association. These new patterns are in addition to the regular events and will alternate each show. Patterns will be posted online before the show. Thanks to Nancy Day, Trisha Swift and others within our English group which have volunteered to help out with the English chairperson position. We are still in need of a chairperson or chairpersons for the Western and Gymkhana parts of the show. Please consider stepping up to help these shows run smoother. We are offering the $5 discount again for memberships which are completed on or before the start of the first show, so get those in early. We also need to start signing up our help for the upcoming shows, so fill in the volunteer sheets as soon as you know you can help. We are working on getting another fabulous CSU intern to help out as well. Spring cleaning will be March 28th, from 9am-3pm. We will have some good equipment and help, working up the arena really well this year, but the rocks will have been multiplying, so bring your buckets. We really need all the help we can get to be ready for the season, so please plan on attending. Food will be provided at 11:30. We look forward to seeing all of you soon. Rocky Mountain Saddle Club Monthly Business Meeting

March 10, 2015

Attendees: Lesli Scott, Nancy Day, Joe Simonds, Tricia Swift, Chris Topping, Shawna Reeves, and Lou Burch on call in. Meeting called to order at 7:16. Reading and Approval of Minutes - Tricia motioned, Nancy seconded. Motion carried. Treasurer’s Report unavailable at time of meeting.

Old/Ongoing Business

Tax ID - need to get one for donation purposes. Lesli to look into this. Chairpersons - Nancy Day has volunteered to do English. Still need someone to do Western and gymkhana. New events - Tricia moved that we introduce randomly selected California Gymkhana speed events for gymkhana. Chris seconded, motion carried. Jr Committee still being discussed. Advertisements - Lesli working on. Newsletter - Lesli putting together. Internship - CSU has posting up. Ribbons/High Point - Lesli waiting on pricing, looking into special ribbons or prizes for new classes. New Rules based on new events - Rule books being redone to include extra classes and events. Email Lists - Lesli working on this. Reaching out to new and old members - Joyce doing this. Arena Crew- need volunteers.

New Business

Arena- Need new lighting fixtures, will be trying to do this on clean up day. Arena to be ripped on or before clean up day. Clean up day- March 28 9am-3pm. Lunch to be provided at 11:30. Arena Markers- Shauna looking into getting some kind of marker to be put into the arena for barrels and poles. Tricia motioned to adjourn meeting, Shawna seconded, meeting adjourned at 8:35. Date for next meeting is April 14 th at 7pm at River Of Life church in Wellington
