Phase 1

• Show students Op art by artistBridget Riley.

• Draw a dot in the center of theart paper.

• Draw an even number of linesfrom the dot to the edge of thepaper.

• Choose two complementarycolored markers and color thebackground.

Phase 2

• Complete Op art coloring.

• Trace pencil lines (betweeneach color) with a black marker.

• Show students examples ofcontour line drawings.

• Students should draw a con-tour line drawing of their shoe onsmall white paper- draw big andfill the space!

Phase 3

• Complete contour line draw-ing.

• Trace with a black marker.

• Cut out and glue to center ofpaper covering the dot.

• Sign name with black marker.
