POLICE have arrested“a number o people” inColeraine over a picture onFacebook which showed twoyouths apparently burning apoppy.

The two males were holdinga lit lighter to the edge o thered paper which makes up apoppy in a photograph whichhas sparked outrage on thesocial networking website.

  Yesterday the picture,  which emerged on Sunday,  was removed rom the website.

Arrests overburnt poppy

  A MURDER investigationhas been launched inLondonderry following thedeath of a 51-year-old man who had been stabbed.

The attack happened inthe Francis Street area of the city at around 1.30pm onTuesday.

The victim was taken tohospital for treatment butlater died.

  A 34-year-old woman wasarrested last night and ishelping police with theirinquiries.

strong inormal ties and goodinrastructure will make ora better working relationshipbetween Northern Ireland andthe Republic.

Mr Robinson said a goodroad, avourable exchangerate, a successul rugby teamand a good speed dial contact

  with a ministerial colleague will do more or relations thanany amount o North SouthMinisterial Council meetings.

In other comments in thespeech, he said that the NorthernIreland economy is expected togrow by around one per centthis year and by two per cent in2012.

  A 56-YEAR-OLD man, be-lieved to be Liam Adams, wasextradited from the Republiclast night and handed over tothe PSNI.

Police said the transfer fol-lowed a Dublin High Courtdecision last week to trans-port the man to NorthernIreland to face serious sexualoffence charges.

The man was arrested on18 warrants, including charg-es of rape, gross indecencyand indecent assault and isexpected to appear beforeLaganside Magistrates Courtthis morning.
