Mobile Gate
Eaton Mobile-gate™Breather Assemblies provide low cost, high efficiency protection againstairborne moisture and particulate contamination.Patented technology elimi-nates moisture condensationin hydraulic system reser-voirs. Moisture is preventedfrom entering and is actually“pumped” out with eachflow cycle. The media regen-erates its water holdingcapacity with every oil returnphase, ensuring long servicelife.
Mobile-gate™ reservoirbreather filters out particlesand moisture before it contami-nates the oil. Hydraulic reser-voirs “breathe” air in and outas the oil level rises and falls. This air contains particles andwater. Particles “sand blast”your machinery and waterattacks your oil and compo-nents. The Mobile-gate reser-voir breather filters out parti-cles and moisture. Protectyour hydraulic system with afilter.
Features/Benefits:• Proprietary Media:
Reduces dew point temperature to preventcondensation and is 99.7%efficient in blocking particles10µ and larger.
• Water Regeneration:Regenerates its water holding capacity with eachcycle.
• Reversible Flow ThroughMedia: Allows for moistureto exit the reservoir.
• Easy Installation:Lightweight design; onlyneeds to be hand tightened.
• Rugged Housing: Protectsthe media from externalsplashing.

Performs as a gateDuring the “inhalation” cycle, the Mobile-gate proprietarymedia blocks the water vaporfrom entering the reservoir.During the “exhalation”cycle, the media allows themoisture in the reservoir airto exit. The moisture is car-ried off the media by theexiting air, restoring themedia’s water barrier capaci-ty, and the moisture barriermechanism is not affected bythe amount of exposure tomoisture. The reservoir air is maintained at a low relative humidity, and moreimportantly, at a lower dewpoint temperature than theambient temperature.
Works even when the system is shut down. The Mobile-gate VentBreather retards the vaporequilibrium process andworks to prevent condensa-tion even after the system isshut and cooled down, suchas overnight. As this chartillustrates, the dewpoint isslow to climb, even after thesystem temperature hasdropped to the ambient tem-perature. Once the systemhas reached ambient temper-ature, condensation does not occur.
Reduces humidity insidereservoir. The Mobile-gate VentBreather lowers and stabilizesthe relative humidity of airinside the reservoir, leading toa lower dewpoint (Tdewpoint< Tambient = NO CONDEN-SATION) at a rate and amountthat will be dependent uponseveral conditions: the ambi-ent conditions, the internalreservoir heat, amount andfrequency of reservoir air flowthrough the vent, and thetemperature of the reservoirsurfaces.
