This special Lenten programme is to expose our audience to God’s Holy Word. God will be talking to us in diverse ways on the Diocesan Theme: “ARISE, SHINE, FOR YOUR LIGHT HAS COME”(Isa. 60:1) God bless you as you watch, listen and meditate on His word. Amen.
Minister: The Lord be with you
People: The Lord bless you
Minister: Let us worship God
Minister: As we approach our Holy God, we realize that we have sinned
and come short of His glory. Let us therefore humbly confess our sins to
Him, kneeling and saying together:
People: O God, our righteous Judge and merciful Father, we confess
that we have sinned against You in thought, word and deed. We
acknowledge that we are responsible for our sinfulness. Have mercy
upon us, we pray You, and forgive us by the love which You have shown
towards us in Jesus Christ, who for our sakes died and rose again. Give
us true repentance by the power of Your Holy Spirit, and enable us to
forsake our evil ways and serve You in newness of life. We ask this
through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Minister: May the Almighty and merciful Lord grant unto us pardon and
remission of all our sins, time for amendment of life, and the grace and
comfort of the Holy Spirit.
People: Amen
Minister: Recognizing that God has forgiven us because Jesus, the
Lamb of God, had died for us, let us adore Him, saying:
All: Salvation belongs to our God who sits upon the throne and to the
Lamb! Amen. Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and
honour and power and might be to our God for ever and ever! Amen.
Minister: You have dealt well with Your servants, O Lord.

Minister: Your word is a lamp to our feet
People: And light to our path
THE PSALMMinister: Let us confess our faith
THE APOSTLES’ CREED: I believe in God, the Father Almighty; Creator of Heaven and earth; and in

third day He rose again, He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the
right hand of the Father; He will come again to judge the living and the
dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; The Holy Catholic Church, The
communion of saints, The forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the
body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Minister: The Lord be with you
People: And also with you
Minister: Let us pray, Lord have mercy upon us
People: Christ, have mercy upon us

Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread, Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us, Lead
us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

REJOICE IN THE LORD ALL HIS OWNText: Psalm 33:1-22
This Psalm is a hymn of praise probably written to celebrate the power, wisdom, and mercy of God. It gives abundant reasons why God's people should rejoice in the Lord. The source of the believer's joy is not in the world, neither is it in themselves, but in the Lord. New songs are put in their mouths because they too are new creatures. It is only the born again that can truly rejoice in the Lord in this world of uncertainty.
Reasons abound why believers should rejoice in the Lord. His word, because it is right (vs. 4); His works, because His works are done in truth and in loving kindness (vs. 4 & 5); His power (vs. 8 &9), because He is able to perform what He had promised and His counsel does not fail; and finally, we are able to rejoice in and praise Him because we are blessed. He has chosen us for His inheritance (vs. 12). All spiritual blessings are ours because we belong to Him. Therefore, we should rejoice no matter the circumstances in which we find ourselves, reminding ourselves that “all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”. (Romans 8:28).
Always remember that “Blessed is the one whose God is the Lord”.
Your Vicar and friend
