“Do you think that all sport organization should use management process?”
In my opinion, I totally agree that all sport organization should use management process to be
a better and successful organization. Management is a set of processes that keep an
organisation functioning. They make it work today, they make it hit this quarter's numbers.
The processes are about planning, budgeting, staffing, clarifying jobs, measuring
performance, and problem-solving when results did not go to plan. This application of
management process also will guide them on track systematically based on the right
procedure and steps. A person who holds a management position inside an organization such
as in sports organization is required to think strategically and conceptually in order to achieve
organizational goals. Therefore, this essay will describe the advantages or importance of
management process and how they relate to organizational success. Management involves far
more than just telling others what to do. The major functions that a management process can
be categorized into four different process known as planning, organizing, leading,
and controlling. These effective management process will enable you to understand how to
planning, organizing, leading, and controlling are used to achieve organizational success
especially in sports organization. To enable all of these process clearly works, the manager in
the organization should play a good leader to control and pelan in each process. The manager
will play a main character in these four major process where each step builds on the others.
Managers must first plan, then organize according to that plan, lead others to work towards
the plan, and finally evaluate the effectiveness of the plan. These four functions must be
performed properly and, when done well, become the reason for organizational success.
The first of the managerial functions is planning. In this step the manager will create
a detailed action plan aimed at some organizational goal. For example, let's say Ahmad as the
marketing manager has a goal of increasing sports stuff sales during the month of Mac.
Ahmad needs to first spend time mapping out the necessary steps he and his team of sales
representatives must take so that they can increase sales numbers. These steps might include
things like increasing advertisements in a particular region, placing some items on sale,
increasing the amount of required customer-to-sales rep contact, or contacting prior
customers to see if they are interested in purchasing additional products. The steps are then
organized into a logical pattern so that Ahmad and his team can follow them. Planning is an
ongoing step and can be highly specialized based on organizational goals, division goals,
departmental goals, and team goals. It is up to the manager to recognize which goals need to
be planned within his or her individual area. The second of the managerial functions
is organizing. This step requires Ahmad to determine how he will distribute resources and
organize his employees according to the plan. Ahmad will need to identify different roles and
ensure that he assigns the right amount of employees to carry out his plan. He will also need
to delegate authority, assign work, and provide direction so that his team of sales
representatives can work towards higher sales numbers without having barriers in their way.
The third function of management is leading. In this step, Ahmad spends
time connecting with his employees on an interpersonal level. This goes beyond simply
managing task rather, it involves communicating, motivating, inspiring, and encouraging
employees towards a higher level of productivity. Not all managers are leaders. An employee
will follow the directions of a manager because they have to, but an employee will
voluntarily follow the directions of a leader because they believe in who he or she is as a
person, what he or she stands for, and for the manner in which they are inspired by the leader.
Controlling is the final function of management. Once a plan has been carried out the
manager evaluates the results against the goals. If a goal is not being met, the manager must
also take any necessary corrective actions to continue to work towards that goal. This shows
the responsibility to work hard and critically think to solve all the unpredictable problems and
make a right decision. Besides that, this controlling procedure also act as a management
function that assist the manager in tracking Organizational performance. Managers also need
to ensure that, decisions and actions taken by the employees or staff of the Organization must
yield positive result. These decisions should be such that it tends towards achieving the
Organizational objectives.
Based on the four functions that required in management process, I totally agree that
all sport organization should use this process to produce a better organization with a clear
vision to achieve organization goals. This process also will contribute to the success of sports
organization and make them function correctly. These process also need cooperation and
participants from all staff and manager to make it success. without cooperation and good
leadership it will be a big disaster to any organization.
