The one-hour special event,which VH1 says is a first-of-its-kind, is titled “Dear Mama,” andwill premiere Sunday, May 8 at 9PM ET/PT with Anthony An-derson (“Blackish”) hosting whilealso honoring his mother, DorisBowman.

Promising that the special willnot be your typical honors show,the event will feature Queen Lat-ifah also honoring her motherRita Owens, a single mother andformer high school teacher inNewark, New Jersey. Trey,Jaden and Willow Smith willalso join the mom-fest to honortheir mother Jada Pinkett-Smith.
