Write Correctly
• Use proper English, even if it isn’t a formal email.
• Make sure to double check your spelling and verb tenses.
• Always double check your email before sending it.
• Not doing any of these can leave a bad impression, which is never good.

Concise
• Your email must be concise and to the point!• When dealing with clients/ and or your boss,
never add extra information that isn’t necessary. You are only wasting there time and yours.
• If you have too much extra stuff, then your recipients will start to skim through the email and cause them to miss important information.

Courteous
• You must be courteous!! If you are rude in emails, then you can loose trust of clients and even business.
• You can also offend your boss, which will result in being fired!
• When giving bad news, never point fingers! Use expressions like, “I am sorry to inform you” or “Unfortunately we aren’t able to meet your request..”

• This is America! We are here to serve the customers/ clients no matter how much of a pain, or how unrealistic they are being. If your not willing to help them, be apologetic about it!
• Good customer service will gain you the edge over competing businesses.

• Treat an email like an Letter, only shorter and more concise!
• Use a short but relevant subject heading.• Use Dear, or Mr./Ms., then a space and indent
the next line.• Use Sincerely, or Something else to close the
email followed by your name, just like a letter
