OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC CONSERVATION
JERSEYMAN ISLAND
Jerseyman Island has long served as a significant community asset, and continues to play an important role in the life, development, and ecosystem of the area.
Featured in tourism and realty promotions, the island's beauty is seen and appreciated by
hundreds of people everyday.
COMMUNITY RESOURCE
Privately conserved for over 50 years, Jerseyman Island is now on the market.
Community groups, conservation groups, individuals, businesses, as well as all levels of government, are encouraged to consider their interests in the future and potential of Jerseyman Island.
Various forms of public conservation and ownership of natural spaces are becoming more popular.
This path could allow for and expand Jerseyman Island's ongoing role in the economy of the area, including the eco tourism, historical tourism, and local recreational sectors, as well as ensuring future public access.
Initiatives which recognize and can capitilize on maintaining the value of natural assets tend to be inherently sustainable and of benefit to the larger community for generations.
Jerseyman Island's current availability on the real estate market is an opportunity for interested public sector parties to consider submitting proposals for the purchase and stewardship of this property.
