How to set up your environment, materials, and evenschedule to support free play.

Time and Space children need at least one hour uninterrupted per day toinvestigate what sparks their curiosity! Children are able to become deeply involved in anactivity without a specific amount of time beingassigned.Arranged so that all children can play freely and safely: 

If it can be seen and touched - children should beable to play with it.Accommodate for mixed ages.

Considerations fortotal time spent ineach space

Group and circle time: less than 30-45 min/day. Should not takeup 1/4 of your environment.Naps: 1-2 hours. room should not be set up around nap time.mealtimes: 3-4 times a day. Table should not be main focus ofenvironment.babies and infants: remember to have a small space to place non-mobile infants while you are prepping other activities. Shouldnot be 1/2 of your environment.
