This certificate was first issued on 18th September 2018 and is valid until 18th September 2019
Issue Dated 18th September 2018
Certificate No: EWW812
The structurally insulated panels (SIPs) comprise OSB/3, EPS insulation and structural timber to form loadbearing walls and
roofs in buildings.
The panels have been verified as suitable as load bearing partitions and external walls for a typical four storey domestic
property with a tiled duo-pitched roof and suitable wall cladding.
The system can also be used in residential, commercial and institutional buildings both in loadbearing applications and as a
non-loadbearing infill panel to a structural frame subject to the submission and verification of additional structural
calculations on an individual project basis.
i-SIPs are available in the following thicknesses: 111, 136, 162, 206 and 257mm.
Maximum standard panel dimensions: 6.00 x 2.77 m.
Design loadings have been taken to cover the building being located in any part of England or Wales with a maximum altitude of 100m and basic wind velocity of 25m/s.
Roof construction consists of factory produced cassettes consisting of Engineered timber joists receiving particle board or
plywood sheathing.
Suspended floors consist of factory produced cassettes consisting of Engineered timber joists receiving particle board or
plywood boarding.
Wall construction consists of panels which have been checked with intermediate restraint (from an intermediate floor
construction).
Excluded from the check are the following items which should all be designed on a project specific basis:
• Drifted snow analysis
• Pitched roofs
• Ridge beams
• Purlins
• Eaves beams
• Flat roof cassettes
• Suspended floor cassettes
• Steelwork
• Lintels
• Balconies
• Staircases
• Foundations
• Overall resistance to uplift/overturning and the racking resistance of the structure
The Innovaré Systems Limited i-SIP Structural Insulated Panel System relies on other construction products, materials and
components to form a complete wall, floor and roof element.
Structural design of the building /element incorporating the SIP shall be in accordance with the relevant Eurocode.
Details of additional protection measures to resist moisture/contaminants from the ground and from moisture outside the
building are site specific: to be determined by location, subsoil and exposure conditions.
The installation must be undertaken by competent installers trained, registered and monitored by Innovaré Systems Limited
and in strict accordance with their designs, details and specifications.
The thermal insulation performance of this system should be considered in context of the contribution made to the overall
performance of the wall structure.
Appropriate thermal analysis will be provided in each instance to demonstrate continued compliance with Approved
Document L 2013.
The following items should be designed on a project specific basis:
Ridge beams
Purlins
Eaves beams
Steelwork
Foundations
Overall racking resistance of the structure
First floor structure
Notification that the structures have been completed and signed off by the manufacturer and are in accordance with the
individual design.
For LABC Warranty purposes:
1) The product is to be used and installed in strict accordance with the BBA certification.
2) The external cavity must be drained and ventilated, and the width must be in accordance with Chapter 7 of LABC
Warranty’s Technical Manual.
3) The SIP panels must be protected by a breather membrane within the cavity,
4) The system must be installed by trained operatives and to a height not exceeding 4 stories including a room in roof.
