AGORA is for Everyone
• Anyone can browse AGORA’s collection of journals without logging in and get to the publishers’ websites and abstracts of journal articles.
• However, only students, faculty and staff at eligible, registered institutions can access full-text articles and CAB Abstracts at no cost.

Eligibility
• 69 countries qualify
• Only public sector or non-profit educational/research organization (no NGOs)
• Institutions must register (just once) to receive a username and password
• All students, faculty and staff use the same password provided to that organization

Who is Using AGORA
• Presently, over 300 institutions in more than 51 countries are registered
• Most institutions are either National Agricultural Research Institutes or major national universities

Users of This Tutorial
• Check with your librarian to receive the username and password that gives you full access to AGORA so you can save and download full-text articles and search the collection using CAB Abstracts.
• You will need at least a 56K modem to be able to download full-text articles with any ease.

AGORA is Evolving
• Changes to the website may occur.
• Technical difficulties occasionally arise.
• If your password doesn’t work the first time, don’t attempt to log in more than 3X in a row.
• Any ongoing trouble with AGORA, email [email protected] (describe problem and include print screen).

– Users must log in using institutional user name and password.
NOTE: AGORA log in does not give access to all services offered on publishers’ websites.

All publishers’ websites are slightly different and even journals within a publisher’s site can vary in appearance and features.
–Identical features might be accessed differently or will be located in other places.–Journal coverage (PDF and/or HTML full-text) is generally from 1997 onwards.–Not all publishers offer the same features (e.g., some have table of contents alerting, some do not).

Abuse of Publisher Privileges• It is NOT OK to:
– Charge for documents, except for cost recovery for teaching materials
– Post content to websites– Change content– Download all articles from a single issue
• Violations result in the ENTIRE country denied access for up to a week, until the problem is resolved.
