HOW TO EXPORT A PDF FROM INDESIGN CS2Attachment A

The first time you export an InDesign file topdf, define a set of rules for exporting filesfor JPA.

Go to:

File

drag down to Adobe PDF Presets

select Define

You will see a screen that shows defaultand saved settings that have been defined.

Select: New

Name the new preset (JPA Export)

General:Compatibility: Acrobat 5(PDF 1.4)Standard: None

Embedded Page Thumbnails - disabledOptimize for Fase Web View - disabledCreate Tagged PDF - disabledCreate Acrobat Layers - disabled

Include: all items disabledBookmarks - disabledHyperlinks - disabledInteractive Elements - disabledNon-Printing Objects - disabledVisible Guides and Baseline Grids - disbled

SPECIAL NOTEFOR COPYDOTS!

Be sure that ALL com-pression is turned offwhen exporting copy-dot files fromInDesign. If compres-sion is enabled, theimage will print lowres with visual degre-gration of the file. Aseparate copydot pre-set shoudl be created:(JPA Export Copydots) The file generated must contain a “cd” in the

name so that JPA runs it through our copydot

To export a pdf - go under

File

drag down to Adobe PDF Presets

select JPA Export

Save as: (please follow JPA proper naming convention)

Navigate to where you want tosave the file

Select Save

Click on Export
