Thanksgiving Day LetterDear World,
I have many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day.First, I want to thank my family for being so kind, nice, and loving. Myfamily helps me a lot. They make me happy when I am sad. Secondly,I am thankful to be a Texan. Texas is my home and I always feel verycomfortable and relaxed when I am home in Texas. People from Texasare very kind and friendly as I am. Lastly, I want to thank Moscow forbeing a good second home to me. In Moscow I have met manyinteresting people. I like living in Moscow and it is a beautiful city.
Yours truly,Robert

Poems • Over the River and Through the Woods• Over the river and through the wood
To Grandmother's house we go. The horse knows the way To carry the sleigh Through white and drifted snow.
• Over the river and through the wood Oh, how the wind does blow! It stings the toes And bites the nose, As over the ground we go.
• Over the river and through the wood To have a first-rate play. Hear the bells ring, Ting-a-ling-ling! Hurrah for Thanksgiving Day!
• Over the river and through the wood, Trot fast, my dapple gray! Spring over the ground Like a hunting hound, For this is Thanksgiving Day.
• Over the river and through the wood, And straight through the barnyard gate. We seem to go Extremely slow~ It is so hard to wait!
• Over the river and through the wood~ Now Grandmother's cap I spy! Hurrah for fun! Is the pudding done? Hurrah for the pumpkin pie! Lydia Maria Child
Full CircleThe year has turned its circle, The seasons come and go. "The harvest all is gathered
in and chilly north winds blow.
Orchards have shared their treasures, the fields, their yellow grain,
So open wide the doorway Thanksgiving comes again!

Brief History• 1620 English Pilgrims set off from Plymouth, England in search of a
new life without religious oppression • Approximately 102 people were on the “Mayflower”• Took about 66 days to reach America• Half the pilgrims died by the spring of starvation and illness• Disease had killed most of the Indian groups in that area of America
before the pilgrims arrived. • Pilgrims were met by and helped by an Indian named Squanto.
Squanto was an escaped slave who spoke English quite well• With the help of Squanto the pilgrims later formed a partnership with
the Wampanoag Indian tribe• Most well-known 1st ever “Thanksgiving” celebration was in
November 1621. But there were other celebrations such as this years before in 1578 in Newfoundland by previous exploring groups from Europe with Indians
