SHINING LIGHTON A BETTER WORLD
Football season is here, the time for ALL FOOTBALL FANS to come out of hibernation and cheer on our hometown teams! Whether it is the Bucs, Bulls, or hundreds of awesome school or youth programs, football season is typically the most special time of the year for sports fans. I know, we also have those teams from where we “used to live “and we love to follow them also. Hey, it’s OK to have a couple of favorite teams. I guess most of us have a team or teams from “back in the year” when we were younger. Yeah, I know, the draft, player signings and NFL hold-out were all stories to keep us interested, but nothing takes the place of that early season feeling when optimism is high for champions to be made!We all know there are 11 men on the field at one time per team, so we can become the 12th man for our team. What kind of a 12th man fan will you be this year?Let’s look at a few varieties:
The Face and/or Body Painter Fan: Often laboring hours before the game to get everydetail done to perfection. They come in all sizes and shapes, from our native son “BigNasty” to the USF “Beef Studs and Babes” to the crazy little kids starting to learnpainting at the earliest stage of their lives. These are the most rabid of fans (or parentsallowing this) and aren’t afraid to show their pride for their team. Give these fanatics thefront row and the respect they deserve, as long as they are in the stadium behaving andcheering on the home team!
The Tailgater Fan: My opinion, these are the best fan friends

to have, that painstakingly load up their big vehicles with grills, tables, mountains of food, drinks, flags, games and more. It is always great to get invited to these to contribute with your own flair and fill up on your favorite pre-game beverages and grilled delights! If you don’t know one, seek to get to know one. Better yet, start your own tailgate and see how many newfellow fans you can get to know.
The Stylish Fan: This might be the fan with the newest eye-catching attire, such asmatching hot (pink or psychedelic) colors, the muscle shirt, trendsetting look or anotherunique distinction. Today’s fashion setter, will be tomorrow’s new look worn by many. You only see the best stylish fans at the game’s and you might even want to incorporatethis into your attire plans the next game. “Gear Up For The Games” at Bucs & Bulls Heaven.
The Old Timer Fan: We all have sat next to one of these, if we aren’t one yet. Theyhave a world of fan knowledge and are huge fans too. They probably used to be thebody painter or stylish fan, but now their closets are filled with the “old style” looks. Youmight even think they are fans from another team if you don’t recognize the colors orlogo look. Ok, maybe you can talk them into spending a few $$ to get some new teamattire? If someone you know is an Old-Timer Fan, bring them out to the game forsome modern day fun. Then when there is a “retro” look game, you will know what towear.
The Bandwagon Fan: Maybe this person isn’t a true fan, but they can be. They
Dixie Wagner is the #1 fan of the USF Bulls. Go Bulls!
probably don’t own the logo sports shirt they are wearing and just going to the game tobe with the “in” crowd, but they are getting closer. Encourage them to stop by one ofthe many retail booths inside or outside the stadium. The bigger the bandwagon, themore of a chance they will jump over to be one of us “real” fans!Oh, fall season has an added bonus in Tampa Bay with our Rays around and ourbeloved Lightning returning to the ice with lots of momentum after Finishing Strong lastyear. No matter what kind of “fan” or “fanatic” you are, please try to be respectable or as myalma mater fans say, “be respect a bull” for your team and the visiting folks. No matterwhat you do, don’t take the game so seriously. Remember, it is only a game and wecan only do our share as a fan. Win or lose, we can be there for our teams!Like my dog Dixie here, they are fans too. You can dress up your pet and give them theopposing teams stuffed mascot to rip apart. Nothing like a little green “Fighting Irish ” ora “Lion” to let your pooch show they are “fanatics” for the home teams!Jeff Wagner [email protected]

And away we go............at last, it’s football season again! And where have we always partied? Why any football fanatic knows we start right here at Raymond James Stadium, where the Tampa Bay BUC’s and the USF BULL’s fight it out on the field with their pro and college team competition! Just think how long it’s been that the parking lot had looked empty, but low and behold, the great and fabulous show has begun!
The fanatical sports fans already shopped for the newest, neatest, and showiest items sold on the market with 100,000’s to chose from that were created in all shapes and sizes for these football addicts, friend or foe, and they only know one thing...... it’s party time and each and every game, they’ll make sure their well planned tailgating will be individually unique!
These super-fans don’t consider anything else but getting to that special space they call their own..already throwing fantastic pre-game shows, and the competition is impressive. Trucks are decorated to show their team colors, flat-beds with portable grills that are used to make others envious that they, too, didn’t go out and get the best of the best.
The massive areas of grass that’s used for parking, rather than the usual asphalt most stadium parking lots have, are now filled from one end of the stadium to the other, with swarms of fans decked out in their most eccentric garb.
Faces are painted in outrageous designs, groups in head wear that make you take a second look, as you interact with as many as you can recognize. The excitement of tailgating, prior to the game beginning and even after the game has been played, is so nostalgic that you just can’t believe you have become one of the radical fans.
It’s a lifestyle that you refuse to give up! Where else can you meet others with your point of view? Where else can you befriend strangers who you look for year in and year out? It’s called “tailgating”, and the sharing of the food, the special recipes for drinks, the different games being played, all add up to one of the most unique lifestyles.
It’s football season, so let yourselves be part of the fantastic parties. Yes, it’s time to GEAR UP FOR THE GAME! www.BucGear.com www.Bullsheaven.com www.GearUpForTheGame.com [email protected]

Article by Samantha Bond
Sssssh... I have a confession to make. I like the pre-game party as much, sometimes more, than the actual game. It’s tailgate time! The food is better, the seats are more comfortable, and it’s easier to move around and stretch your legs. Frequently the stream of people flowing by as they enter the venue is as entertaining to watch as the game. Bring a football, bring a Frisbee; please leave your dog at home. Tailgate parties can be a blast.
Let’s start with the food comparison. I’m known as a germ-phoebe and I’m proud of it. Not to scare anyone, but I worked in food service for many of my pre-professional work years and I know where that’s been. Here’s what to avoid: common areas such as “fixing” bars. Get your ketchup from a packet. I usually avoid food that sits in a warming station in a public venue that is not individually wrapped. For example, I will eat a hot dog that comes in a foil sleeve. I’m not inclined to order the nachos with the cheese coming from a ladle in a can sitting in a crock pot. Ewww. Popcorn and over sized pretzels are sort of an exception because they are not gooey and were probably cooked within 30 minutes of being served.
The food at the tailgate, by comparison…well, there is no comparison. There is so much pride at the tailgate among the veterans. Sometimes I wish I could sample at everyone’s table, like a free agent food fan.
Matt Worley aka “Chef Red” preparing for his grilling sensations.
Veteran tailgaters are the best. They are the serious types who carry-in their own grill and cook on site, frequently beginning in the early morning hours. Foodies insist on charcoal, but I’m not that picky. I like simple, so wings are my meat of choice. With the many variations of seasoning, they never get old. They don’t require silverware, condiments, bread or even a plate.
Let’s talk chips. Tailgating is my excuse to eat chips because they almost always make an appearance. They are abundant, inexpensive, and when eaten standing up, guilt free. Salty, spicy, bbq, onion, cheese, with or without dip, I love chips.
Salads and sides are as varied as the fans who bring them. I have to admit, I’m partial to bean salad. I can be picky. Pickles are like bowling; I could go without a long time and never miss them. Salads with mayonnaise make me a little nervous, so I usually only eat them when they are still cold, either in the cooler or on ice.
The coolers of drinks are often as varied as the foods. I’ve even seen blenders on tailgates. If you have a designated driver or can limit yourself to just one, I love a good bloody mary in the morning. Don’t try my patience, it better have celery salt. Bring water, it will be a long day and I have to assume you are in Florida reading this. We all know what that means. It will likely get hot, even in February, and we like it that way.
Get out early and enjoy your next tailgate. Keep an eye out for the free agent food fan!

While in the midst of his shopping frenzy, he decided to also do some shopping for his family back home. A Buccaneer bear crushing a Dallas Cowboys helmet for his uncle since he just loves those Cowboys, ha ha and some autographed items for his two cousins Jared & Ryan.
With Buc Heaven offering a children’s and ladies section, Joel was able to finish his shopping experience for his sister, two moms, and his aunt. Buc Heaven is a one stop shop for all your Buccaneers merchandise. If you are a South Florida Bulls fan, they’ve got you covered there too. That’s where I found Joel picking out a wild hair wig.
With the season right upon us, don’t miss out on your favorite Bucs & Bulls team merchandise as well as all your tailgate supplies. Join us at WTB tailgate camp and meet some of the Super Fan characters and other fans of this great Pewter Nation. Bring your favorite food and join the fun. Remember, It’s fun for everyone. If you drink, please don’t drive. Bucs & Bulls Heaven is located at 14823 N. Florida Avenue Tampa, Fl 33613 813-908-2827 www.BucGear.com www.BullsHeaven.com [email protected]
