own Domestic Noir genre.
She lives in Brighton with her husband,

Margaret Callow:
10.00am
Margaret Callow lives in a village to the north of Norwich with her family. After
working as a health care professional for many years, she came to writing novels
late. Discovering her interest in the social history of England, she researched the
ordinary people of the day who fought to improve the conditions for the working
man which we enjoy today and her novels are a result of this fascination for the past.
When a shocking crime in Norfolk in 1848 caught her eye, she wrote” Rust” based on the true story of James Bloomfield Rush &
the murders at Stanfield Hall.
Barbara Nadel: 11.30am
Murder in Turkey
Barbara Nadel was brought up in the East End of London without the benefit of central heating. She has a degree in
psychology and over the years she has worked as a teacher, a bar maid, a fortune
teller, an events manager and, most significantly, in mental health services
both in hospitals and in the community.
Now a full-time crime writer, she currently produces two fictional series, one set in
Istanbul (The Inspector Ikmen mysteries, published by Headline) and the other in the East End of London (The Hakim and Arnold series published by Quercus). In 2005 her Ikmen book 'Deadly Web' won
the CWA Silver Dagger for fiction and her latest Hakim and Arnold 'Poisoned
Ground' has been entered for the CWA Gold Dagger this year. Barbara is married
with one grown up son. She likes scrambling about in ruined buildings, cats
and wearing a lot of black.

Have lunch, cake & and hot drinks with the authors. Choose from:
• Cod, plaice or haddock & chips
• Sausage & chips
• Veggie burger & chips
With a slice of cake & a hot drink for dessert

Simon Brett: 2.00pm
Simon Brett is the writer responsible for the Charles Paris, Mrs Pargeter and Fethering series of crime novels, as well as radio and television series such as No
Commitments and After Henry. He says “I am very fortunate to make a
living (most of the time) from something I would do anyway. I
can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to write. I still do, and I want to
do it better”.
In 2014 he was presented with the CWA Diamond Dagger for
sustained excellence and significant contribution to crime writing.
Rory Clements: 3.30pm
Rory Clements is the award-winning
author of the John Shakespeare series
of Tudor spy thrillers. His 7 acclaimed
novels, “Martyr”, “Revenger”, “Prince”,
“Traitor”, “The Heretics”, “The Queen's
Man” and “Holy Spy”, follow Elizabeth's
Intelligencer, John Shakespeare, brother
to the playwright William, through the
dark underworld of Tudor England as he
unmasks the traitors and conspirators
who plot against the Queen.
Rory Clements won the Crime Writers'
Association Ellis Peters Historical Fiction
Award in 2010 for Revenger, and has
been shortlisted for CWA Awards for
Martyr, Prince and The Heretics. A TV
