Alice and H erb K appenberg of R iverhead have ju s t re tu rn ed from a cru ise on th e ir boat, “ See-Saw ,” to C hesapeake Bay. Dorothy Smith of M errit t’s Pond Trailer Park spen t a month-long vacation visiting h e r friend, M rs. H enry Stanley of H ouston, Texas. They took a m otor tr ip to New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Utah and Mexico. Dorothy saw many b e a u t i f u l a n d im p r e s s iv e s ig h t s . The R iverhead C ham ber o f Com­m erce is sponsoring a bus tr ip to Shea Stadium on A ugust 15. The San Francisco G iants and the New York M ets will play. The R iverhead K iw anis Club, now in its 19th year, h as taken to the air. Through the courtesy o f Ed Wood and the staff. Radio Station WRIV has donated th e tim e b e ­tw een 7:30 a .m . and 8 p .m ., on Saturday, Ju ly 19 to th e u se of Kiwanis. The K iw anians, th e m ­selves, will do th e program m ing and announcing for th a t period.

A dvertisem ents and p ledges a re now being solicited with all the p roceeds going to com m unity s e r ­vice. The nam es of all donors will be broadcast.

P rogram m ing will include local music and interviews with people who have helped and been helped by Kiwanis activities. The K iw ani­ans believe in th e ir slogan “ Show You C a re ,” and need th e support of the com m unity to show it cares .
