Between transportation, Income level, program location we’ve detected that these “clusters” were formed and where these points brought people. How can there be so much commotion near the Navy yards yet it is vacant when introducing public interaction?

The existing site boundary prevents public fromaccessing the site by using a simple gate. However, with the design of the BGB this boundary can beturned to a threshold, allowing the public to interact with the new program situated at an orientation to still maintain privacy.

The existing program which is kept is determined by the istorical context as well as the income and jobs that each uilding supplies. When new program is added to the site it is rranged o� grid lines from exisiting major roads.

The belt has many characteristics which o�ersspeci�c typologies to each of its proposed buildings.It allows its interesting forms to dictate the allowed access into the Navy Yards, providing privacy whenneeded and o�ers opportunity for the public to enjoy

The surrounding site is a loud, congested and chaotic area for pedestrians. BGB creates a pleasing and quite space for the public that is secure and creates interaction. Taking the existing bike path and allowing it to access the site.
