It is not right to ask for proof of surgical strikes: Hazare

NEW DELHI, Oct 4:

Social activist Anna Hazaretoday expressed disagreementwith his one-time protege andDelhi Chief Minister ArvindKejriwal, saying it is not right toask for proof of surgical strikesby the army on terror camps inPoK.

"It is unfair to ask for proofof surgical strikes. I condemnthis. The matter is related to thearmy, country and the border. Atthis time, it is wrong to mistrust(the army). There was a lot plan-ning done for the operation. In asuch a case, how can we mistrustpeople," Hazare said.

He was speaking at thelaunch of the trailer of his biopic'Anna'.

Hazare is a veteran of 1965Indo-Pak war and was posted inthe northeast at a time wheninsurgency was flaring in theregion.

In a televised speech yester-day, Kejriwal had "saluted"Prime Minister Narendra Modi

for ordering the surgical strikebut also referred to some inter-national media reports and anUN group observations, both ofwhich appear to question itsauthenticity, as he asked thePrime Minister to "unmask thePakistani propaganda".

Claiming that Kejriwal"sought proof" on the anti-terroroperation, the BJP asked him notto belittle the armed forces bygetting influenced by Pakistani"propaganda".

At a press conference today,Union Minister Ravi ShankarPrasad said the AAP leadershould answer whether hebelieved in the Indian Army ornot.

Kejriwal rejected BJP's criti-cism and accused it of playingpolitics over the anti-terror sur-gical strike and said why was theparty "scared" when he had onlyasked the Prime MinisterNarendra Modi to counter thepropaganda by Pakistan. (PTI)
