Montage
Descripon: An inspiraonal montage created by blending 7 photos together, and the use of
creave typography.
Programs used: Adobe Photoshop.
Date: February 14, 2016
Objecves:• Unify a layout with a consistent theme and typography
• Learn to blend two or more images together gradually, using masks
• Use a mask to apply a lter to one part of the image
Processes:1. I set the image to be 11in x 8.5in so that it could be printable on a sheet of paper.
2. I put the image of the stars in rst. I adjusted the colors, rst I selected the yellows areturned them a deeper peach and then I selected the black and turned it a dark blue color. I
also put a blue solid color mask over the enre picture to bring out the blues more.
3. I put Christ under the earth layer and blended him in by rst pung down a layer mask and
then by using the brush tool.
4. I then put the basket texture picture in and using a layer mask brushed out the earth and
turned the opacity down to 15%.
5. I played with the text for awhile to align it and make certain words stand out.6. In order to make the text pop I had to use the dodge and burn tools on the star picture layer.

Brochure
Descripon: A two sided (duplex) folding brochure.
Programs used: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
Date: March 26, 2016
Objecves:• Set up and align a two-sided, folded document.
• Create an original, new logo and use it in a brochure.
• Images clipped in Photoshop and text-wrapped in InDesign
Processes:This project required the use of a lot of programs. I used Adobe Illustrator to make my personal
logo that I put on the back. I used InDesign to layout the brochure. I used Photoshop to cut outthe family that is on the inside of the brochure. When I rst started this assignment I kind of had
a dierent theme for page, there wasn’t much connuity. However once I created the inside,
I really liked this idea of the blue bars. So I decided to make that my theme throughout the
brochure. I used the same blue that is contained in the logo so that the colors would stay consis-
tent.

PhotoDesign
Descripon: Demonstrate good photography and image eding skills, while also tying in andidenfying a color scheme.
Programs used: Photoshop
Date: February 7, 2016
Objecves:• Take a quality original image, choose a color scheme to go with it
• Adjust image levels, saturaon, color balance, sharpen tool on separate layers
• Use layers to design text, and repeang graphic elements in Photoshop.
Processes:I formulated a plan and decided that I wanted to take a picture of a plant. On my way to the
library I saw this beauful berry bush and the red berries look striking against the snow. I cap-
tured this picture using a Cannon PowerShot camera. I edited this image using Photoshop. I
bumped up the levels, to whiten out some of the foliage in the background. I also edited the
vibrance/saturaon, used the sharpen tool, and put a teal layer mask over the image to add
some color.
I decided to keep the color scheme simple – monochromac red. I was having a hard me mak-
ing the leers stand out and that when I played with pung some circles behind it. I concluded
that one large circle was the best way to go, in order to keep the design striking and elegant.

Event Ad
Descripon: A color full-bleed event ad to promote a fundraiser using only Microso Wordand a scanner.
Programs used: Word and a scanner
Date: January 29, 2016
Objecves:• Comprehend image sizing (how pixels and inches work together)
• Create a full-bleed design.vvzz
• Learn to use only Word design features without using any Adobe programs, including Photo-
shop.
Processes:I scanned this image at 300 ppi so a good resoluon could be maintained. I lled the lower le
hand corner box with a rich red color to unify the rich, warm feeling that one gets when seeing
the image and when thinking of “warmth” since it’s a fundraiser to make and distribute blan-
kets. I decided to keep the text all white because it really pops in contrast to the dark back-
ground. This whole design was used only using Microso Word, it’s amazing how many capabili-
es this program has!

Logo
Descripon: A logo for my hypothecal design company.
Programs used: Illustrator
Date: February 20, 2016
Objecves:• Use only the Illustrator tools to create and draw your logos.• Rene one logo with variaons for color
Processes:
I created several logo opons and aer actually designing 3 of them I took a vote.
This was the design that was rated highest, it actually was not my personal favor-
ite but aer trying out each of the logos as a watermark in the corner of a photoI had taken this was the one that looked best. So I decided to go with the popular
vote and funconality of this design. I then modied the thickness of the middle
diamond and the alignment of the text to improve the design. I then made it us-
able for black and white print, and white on a color background.
