Clayton State University opened in 1969 as Clayton Junior
College, with Dr. Harry S. Downs as the founding president.
Clayton State now enrolls 6,800+ students in degree credit
programs that, in the words of the University’s mission,
provide “career-oriented education with a solid liberal arts
foundation.” In January 1998, Clayton State became the
first public university in the Southeast and one of the first in
the nation to issue notebook computers to all students at all
levels in all majors. This “Information Technology Project”
has transformed the campus and made Clayton State a
national pioneer in “ubiquitous computing.”
As Clayton State University continued to grow, a new
Science building was added to their campus. Upon design
of the new facility, Kimball Office was an integral part of the
team for development, specification, pricing and installation
phases. Due to the scale and versatility of the project, it was
critical to select the product that was the best quality, met
the budget guidelines and provided the expert services to
meet the deadlines. Kimball Office product was specified to
furnish offices, seminar rooms, workrooms, reception and
waiting areas.
It was pleasure working with the Kimball Office team of
experts. They showcased patience and the willingness to go
above and beyond to meet the requirements of the project.
We look forward to continue to work with Kimball Office,”
stated Priti Bhatia, Project Manager Facilities Management,
Clayton State University.
