19 - 022Electroreduction of Nitrate to Ammonia in Alkaline Solutions UsingHydrogen Storage Alloy Cathodes. — The current efficiency in NH3

production on hydrogen storage alloy electrodes is influenced by a series offactors. The electrolysis on the fully hydrided electrode in the 0.5 M KOH +0.05 M KNO3 solution produces NH3 with a current efficiency of 90% at -1.2 Vvs. SCE. It is found that the dissolved H2 in the alloy electrode can directlyparticipate in the reduction process and enhance the catalytic activity of theelectrode. — (LU, CHUN; LU, SHIGANG; QIU, WEIHUA; LIU, QINGGUO;Electrochim.
