Aromatic Iodination Using N-Iodosaccharin in Room Temperature Ionic Liquids. — The process can be applied to various arenes including those which are only mod-estly activated. In contrast to the water-soluble [bmim]BF4, the use of [bmim]NTf2 allows simple removal of the saccharin by-product by washing and the recovered ionic liquid can be reused.
