Foti FurnitureFurnishing homes with a personal touch for more than 58 years

When Canary Foti came out of the military, hejoined his dad to work in his appliance and furni-ture store Foti’s Furniture. He was also a certifiedjeweler, hand engraving pieces for customers.

Although engraving is no longer available, thefurniture store has now been providing qualitypieces to area residents for 58 years.

The store, opened by Frank F. Foti, is still family-ownedand -operated today. Carlo, Gerard and Peter Foti strive toensure customers get the same quality and service thatbecame associated with the store when it opened.

Nine employees, who have practically grown upin the store, are available to help customerschoose just the right item for their homes.

The St. Martinville Store has been converted to a flowerand gift shop. Ann Foti still manages the store called C’EstJolie, located in the old furniture store.

The personal touch, delivered by the FotiFurniture staff, makes the furniture store stand outfrom its competitors and keeps generations of cus-tomers coming back to furnish their homes with

Foti Furniture. However, the quality doesn’t end withexceptional customer service. Also notable is the largeselection of brand name furniture that can be selectedfrom at the store, including Ashley, Hooker, Broyhill, ActionLane, La Z Boy and Sealy Bedding.

Quality merchandise is a top priority, and cus-tomers can expect only the best from Foti

Furniture. Far from stopping the service at justhelping customers select a quality piece, theknowledgeable staff can also offer advice aboutdecorating, colors and fabric. They will even makea special trip to customers’ homes to offer advice.

Good customer service is very important to the staff atFoti Furniture. Prompt customer attention and per-sonal, one-on-one service, are among the reasonsFoti Furniture has been in business for so long.

Himel Motor SupplyCustomer service, number one priority

Himel Motor Supply, an independently ownedNAPA dealer, got its start in 1918, when HermanHimel opened an auto parts store in the Covingtonarea.

Since then, Himel has opened stores all over Louisiana,at one time having more than 33 locations. The primarystore is now in New Iberia, with Himel’s grandson, Kent,as the co-owner.

His father runs Himel Marine and over-sees everything.

Although NAPA is the distributor, Himelis an independent, locally owned busi-ness.

“All the other auto parts stores are company owned,”Kent Himel said. “NAPA has its own stores as well, butonly about 20 percent are company owned, while 80 per-cent are independently owned.”

Himel takes pride in the fact that they are locally ownedand community minded, priding themselves on customerservice and providing the best parts in the business atcompetitive prices.

Himel Motor Supply sells virtually all operating parts of avehicle, including additives like radiator stop-leak and oiladditives that improve gas mileage.

“We stock primarily anything that makes a car run,” KentHimel said.

“We have other items as well, like a line of commercialpressure washers and steam cleaners.

“We also tie in the marine end of it with Himel Marine,

offering parts and accessories for boats, motors and trail-ers.”

If they don’t have it in stock, they can have it shippedovernight from any of NAPA’s 48 distribution centers.Manager Sandra Haycock and assistant manager JeffLandry, who has 30-plus years of experience, are readyand willing to offer advice and answer any of their cus-tomers’ questions.

Kent Himel said the no. 1 priority at Himel Motor Supplyis customer service.

“It’s the single most important thing,” he said.“We want to make the customer feel appreciatedand comfortable. We will go that extra mile to solvea problem.

We strive to be the very best at customer serv-ice.”

When Iberia Medical Center opened its doors in September, 1960, the goal was similar to what it is today – to provide the highest quality care for all of our patients. During this, our 50th anniversary year, we’re proud of the service we provide and of the people who deliver it on a 24/7 basis. Our commitment to our patients, our staff, and our physicians is second to none. We pledge to continue to improve our facilities and respond to the health care needs of our community.

Over the years, Iberia Medical Center has continually made investments in new technology and facility improve-ments amounting to over $24.5 million during the last decade alone. This significant investment is necessary for Iberia Medical to provide the latest state-of-the-art health care locally.

Iberia Medical Center is extremely proud of the team of professionals we’ve put together. These doctors, nurses, assistants, and support staff are the ones who make our hospital so effective. Their outstanding contributions have not gone unnoticed. The most critical judges of their performance are all of you, the members of our community that we strive to serve. And the very high marks we receive from you in our patient satisfaction surveys indicate how extremely satisfied you are with our quality of care.

As we celebrate our 50th year of service, we will continue to work with other health care providers and community organizations to assist our citizens in accessing the care and knowledge they need to achieve better overall health. Iberia Parish is blessed with an abundance of highly trained and talented health care professionals.
