Welcome
Congratulations on choosing to be a Bush Ranger cadet. You will learn new skills, work with great people and have the opportunity to work in, and enjoy, Western Australia’s amazing natural environment.
The Bush Rangers WA Program has three levels: Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. As you progress through these levels you are rewarded with certificates. These certificates recognise the skills you develop as a volunteer Bush Ranger cadet and are evidence of your experience and skills for prospective employers and educational institutions.
Use this logbook to record evidence of your activities as a cadet and assist your Unit Leader assess your achievements to determine if you should be awarded a Certificate of Promotion.
Add to your logbook at the end of each meeting, excursion or camp. Each page represents a module. Learning outcomes are listed with a space under each to record how you achieved the outcome. The table on the next page gives some examples on how to fill out your logbook.
You may achieve some learning outcomes a number of times, while others you may address only once. So leave space for more entries under each outcome and rule a line to separate different events.
Where to keep your logbook
Your Unit Leader will keep all the logbooks together. If you transfer from one Unit to another, your logbook will go with you. This logbook can be used for Levels 1, 2 and 3.
