ISO accreditation ISO standards serve to saeguard consumers and users o products andservices in general. Standards raise levels o quality, saety, reliabilityand efciency.
Machine Direction (MD) The direction in a machine-made abric, parallel to the direction o motiono the material through the processing machine i.e. along the length o the roll.
Cross Machine direction (XMD) The direction in a machine made abric, perpendicular to the direction o motion o the material through the processing machine i.e. across thewidth o the roll.
Typical Value A typical value is the arithmetic mean o a set o results, see diagrambelow. This implies that 50% o the tested specimens will typically exceedthis value and 50% will typically not meet this value.
Minimum Average Roll Values (MARV) MARV is a statistical derivation or any distribution o data. It is defned asthe mean or typical value less 2 standard deviations, (reer to diagrambelow). Mathematically it is implied that 97.5% o the tested specimenswill exceed the MARV value.
