Objective:

1. What you need:a) List of companies (by ticker or name or CIK)

b) List of XBRL tags

2. Steps:a) Load companies and tags in Historical Data report,

check the box “Unpivot data” and output results in Excel

b) Using Excel, build Pivot Table on that result

c) Slice and dice the data by industry sectors, periods, counts or values

Analyze how some XBRL tags are used in an industry sector in Excel

Step 1: List companies and tags

Remove from the list Text XBRL tags – the name ends with TextBlock

Step 2a: get Unpivoted data in Excel
