Presentation shows how to benchmark and analyse the usage of different XBRL tags in Excel with XBRLAnalyst Add-In. The user can select some specific industry sector or provide a list of company tickers in Excel and a list of XBRL tags. The data is returned in Unpivoted form suitable for building Excel Pivot Tables quickly. As an example, the presentation analyzes Goodwill related tags in Television Broadcasting Stations industry sector. 1. What you need:a) List of companies (by ticker or name or CIK)
b) List of XBRL tags
2. Steps:a) Load companies and tags in Historical Data report,
check the box “Unpivot data” and output results in Excel
b) Using Excel, build Pivot Table on that result
c) Slice and dice the data by industry sectors, periods, counts or values
