Our 65th Year has started off with a bang.I speak, not necessarily from a businessstandpoint, which incidentally is off to anincredible start, but from a “feel good” per-spective. Our marketing department con-tinued its push through both social mediaand print media, for our largest marketingprogram ever! The Duro Dyne Pink projectsuccessfully raised $65,885 for the BreastCancer Research Foundation. This wouldnot have been possible without the ex-treme generosity of our customers, suppli-ers and employees. There is no greaterreward for Duro Dyne than helping such aworthy cause. We can only pray that thishorrible disease will be obliterated in thevery near future.
On a personal note, I am pleased to an-nounce the birth of my first granddaugh-ter, Annabella Ruth, who was bornto my daughter, Fallyn, and her boyfriend, Joe,on February 9th. Ofcourse, we think sheis the most beautifulbabyever!
2017 marks the 65th anniversary of theDuro Dyne Corporation! To celebrate thisanniversary milestone, Duro Dyne part-nered with the Breast Cancer ResearchFoundation to help raise awareness andfight for a cure to breast cancer.
The mission of the BCRF is to prevent andcure breast cancer by advancing theworld’s most promising research. It is the highest rated breast cancer organizationin the U.S. and has funded 10,876,960hours of research since 1993.
To help further the cause of the BCRF,Duro Dyne launched the DD Pink Projectover the course of several months, whichresulted in an astounding $65,885.00raised for Breast Cancer Awareness.

The main event was the auction of Duro Dyne‘Pink Edition Machinery’ at the AHR Expoin Las Vegas in which all proceeds ofthe auctions went directly to the BCRF. Duro Dyne’s booth at the Expo featured the pink edition machinery with a12-foot-high backdrop of names honoring many of those closeto the company who have struggled with a breast cancer diagnosis.A total of three pink machines were auctioned off right at the booth. The highest bid of the first RH Mach III Pink Edition Pinspotter went to Conditioned Air Systemsfrom Gainesville, GA. President & CEO Doug Magnus saw the Pink Edition RH on the back cover of SNIPS Magazine and visited the Duro Dyne booth day one of the show to place the bid in honor of his wife who is a 10-year breast cancer free survivor. Mario Cavallone, of Airside in New Jersey, a long time Duro Dyne customer, waswinner of the second RH Mach III Pinspotter andplaced his bid at the AHR Expo hospitality event on Monday evening! Mario stated, “We all know someonewho has been touched by breast cancer. It is ourcommon enemy. We wanted to be allies with DuroDyne in the fight against breast cancer. Duro Dyne isa class act and we are proud to have partnered upwith them for this cause.” The third machine, a pinkMF12A, was won by Air Tech of Houston, TX. BillWagner of Air Tech mentioned, “Breast CancerAwareness is something that is near and dear to ourhearts as we all know someone who has been affectedor tragically passed away from this illness. Air Techdonates as often as possible to help create earlydetection screenings and in hopes to one day findinga cure that can put an end to cancer.”
Duro Dyne Technical Service Manager Willie Vasquezproposed the idea of Pink Edition Machinery after seeing other companies paint their machines in thatsymbolic color. It was first proposed at a Duro Dyne
internal AHR meeting in July of 2016 byDavid Krupnick, Willie’s boss. He was bursting with endless
ideas for this cause and a campaign was quickly launched
for the DD Pink Project.
Peter Celli of Prizmatic Powder Coating in Medford, NY offered to do the pink powder coating free of charge in honor of his
mother who was a breast cancer survivor. This was just the first of
many generous contributions that would soon come to
the DD Pink Project.
Machinery decals were provided free of charge from
NY SignCompany. Then, several Duro Dyne
employees sent in checksto contribute to the cause.
Fellow HVAC companies such as Tim Walsh ofVicon, Rick Spinelli of Bryant AC, RobbieThompson of Conklin Metals and the EastBay Mechanical Corp. gave generous donations.AHR Expo attendees filled donation boxes atthe DD Booth during the three day show. DuroDyne also added $1 for every time their hash-tag was used on social media, #DuroDynePink.
The support from the HVAC industry on thisproject was just over the top.
The culmination of the DD Pink Project was aDuro Dyne hosted event exclusively for ourcustomers at the Stack Restaurant in theMirage Hotel after the AHR Expo. Entertainmentby a live band, delicious food, dancing, andgreat company was had by all at this65th anniversary extravaganza. There were250 attendees and an overwhelming supportfor the DD Pink Project, making this DuroDyne event the largest in the company’s 65 year history!
