Humanitarian Response Programme
A pan industry alliance developing a continuum of care for
Seafarers and their families affected by Piracy
Our purpose:
to assist seafarers and their families with thehumanitarian aspects of a traumatic incident caused by a
piracy attack, armed robbery or being taken hostage "
A not for profit unincorporated association, launched in 2011 and fundedinitially by the ITF Seafarers Trust and the TK Foundation
Delivering on the IMOs action plan to provide care for those attacked or
hijacked by pirates and for their families.

Task group meetings of multi-disciplined,
international experts, including psychosocial, socialand pastoral consultants and advisers
Fact finding meetings and interviews with seafarersand families worldwide, including many with first hand
experience of attacks
Advisory groups sharing and developing industry andassociations practices and procedures, training andskills required
