The 100 Innovations x Entrepreneurs (100x), Southeast Asia’s First Research-to-Commercial Conference organized by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in collaboration with the Thailand Tech Startup Association (TTSA) was held on 27-28 September at C asean Bangkok.
At the two-day event, hundreds of students, startups, entrepreneurs from various industries, development agencies, NGOs, as well as investors and venture capitalists came together to discuss new innovations and ways to combine social impact research with new business ideas.
The Conference served as the venue to launch AIT’s new initiative, the AIT Entrepreneurship Center, a place for innovation, creation, and incubation to nurture and drive the entrepreneurial capabilities of AIT in collaboration with the industry to
support the socio-economic development of Thailand and the region.
Seventy experts from various organizations all over the globe joined the conference as keynote speakers, panelists, and workshop speakers. More than 250 innovators, entrepreneurs, and startups showcased their innovations through exhibition display.
The 100x Pitch Competition with the theme Solutions for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was one of the key highlights in the event. Fifteen finalists competed in the live pitch; these were pre-selected by Vertech Capital from 40 applications from different countries. Winners included Thais for Best Startup, Agcura for Best Presentation, and Wealthi for Best Solution for SDGs

The launch of the AIT Entrepreneurship Center, a regional hub for innovation and entrepreneurship through collaboration with the government, industry, and other institutions, was one of the key highlights of the event.

The AIT Research Poster Competition showcased eight sustainable and innovative researches of master‘s and doctoral students in AIT. Three were selected as Best Poster by Dr. Naveed Anwar, Vice President for Knowledge Transfer and Prof. Dieter Trau, Director, Entrepreneurship Center. All students are the first batch members of the newly launched Entrepreneurship Center.

B.E.S.T. Camp
BUSINESS, ENGINEERING, AND SCIENCE STUDENTS CO-CREATING TOGETHERThe Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) through its newest initiative, Entrepreneurship Center, jointly organized B.E.S.T. Camp (Business, Engineering, and Science Students Co-Creating Together) with Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST) held on 28-30 September 2019 at the AIT Campus.
This “ideas entrepreneurship camp” brought together undergraduate and post graduate students from the AIT, HKUST, as well as the National University of Singapore (NUS). The Camp’s theme focuses on Social, Business and Technology Innovations to Tackle Waste Reduction and Promote Circular Economy.
