Lubricating the treadmill
Spazio Forma is factory-lubricated with products specially designed to have a long lasting effect. Nevertheless,it may become necessary to replenish the film of lubricant between the running track table and the tread beltitself, especially if the treadmill is used intensively (at high speed and with heavy users). If the treadmill runsunevenly, slowing down each time the foot comes down on to the belt, proceed as follows.
Stop the treadmill.
Set the gradient to 12%.
Introduce the spout between the belt and table, asshown in the illustration.
Oil the tread belt in several different places, withoutapplying an excessive amount of oil.
Start the treadmill at a speed of 5 km/h and walk on itfor a few seconds.
Stop the treadmill and repeat the above steps four times, so as to cover the entire surface of the tread belt.
Check that the treadmill now runs smoothly.

Contents2 Using the Spazio FormaSpazio Forma is an equipment unit that simulates walking, running and aerobic exercises, which can beperformed at different levels of intensity. It is also useful for limb and joint rehabilitation and cardiovascularexercises. This means a wide and diversified range of people can use it, from competitive athletes (for specificcardiovascular training) to ordinary individuals who want to get fit and keep in shape.
Spazio Forma allows training in safe conditions:
- the surface of the treadmill, with its special shock-absorber system, protects the joints and limbs frompossible micro-traumas;
- when the chest band is worn, the heart rate is monitored constantly and shown on the display, so that thespeed most appropriate to the user's physical condition, weight, and age can be worked out and inaccordance with the doctor's instructions.
The display shows the workout data, which are continuously updated. The control panel can also be used to setand save personal workouts, select one of the programmed routes or exercise freely, changing speed andgradient at will.
DangerSpazio Forma is to be used solely for its intended purpose, i.e. to simulate walking and running. Anyother use is considered improper.

Age
To read the graph, simply find your age on the horizontal axis and scan up the vertical until you reach the 60%,70% and 90% values.
Aerobic exercise performed at a heart rate between 60% and 70% mainly burns fat as an energy source.
When doing aerobic exercise at a heart rate of 70% to 90% the cardiocirculatory component prevails.

The performance index (PI) was invented by Technogym to give a concise and easily comparable assessmentof performance in a workout.
To have your performance index shown on the display with the other results at the end of the exercise, in anykind of workout, simply use the heart rate monitor for at least 3 minutes.
P.I. = 10
The index is based on a rating scale ranging from 0 to 99. The higher the rating, the greater your aerobiccapacity.
If your performance index increases, this means that you are exercising more intensely without increasingyour heart rate.
The criteria used to calculate the performance index makes it possible to compare tests taken by people ofdifferent ages. In any event, you are advised to compare the results of different tests taken by the sameperson, or different people, working out at the same intensity for the same time.
