A B O U T T H E C O V E R
Historically, visual cues like glass skyscrapers, large concrete garages and people wearing suits clearly identified Downtown Phoenix as a business and commerce center. But during the last decade, it has developed into so much more than that. Over time, downtown started looking younger, staying up later, and growing into a much more diverse and interesting place. The vibrant street art and mural scene represents some of those dynamic changes. Splashes of color, funky geometric patterns and thought-provoking portraits grace many of the buildings and businesses around downtown. From street art to fine art, murals are becoming a major source of Downtown Phoenix pride.

JB SNYDER
The 1960s and ‘70s revolutionized popular music, and some of the album covers from that time were just as cutting-edge. Drawing inspiration from the colorful and psychedelic images associated with the classic rock era, artist and muralist JB Snyder uses continuous lines, bright colors and hidden images to add a sense of musicality and intrigue to his designs. He got his start in the Arizona hip-hop and DJ scene in the early 2000s doing live painting, and eventually took his style from the canvas to the street. From abandoned buildings to boring beige walls, he strives to add a sense of life and vibrancy into everything he paints.

ABOUT DOWNTOWN PHOENIX PARTNERSHIP
The Downtown Phoenix Partnership is a nonprofit organization that provides enhanced municipal services to the Downtown Phoenix Business Improvement District, a 90-square-block
activity center with boundaries of 7th Street west to 3rd Avenue and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks north to Fillmore Street. Formed in 1990, the Downtown Phoenix Partnership works to strengthen downtown’s appeal as a destination for business
and residential development, tourism and events.

Created in 2013 as a community development group, Downtown Phoenix Inc. (DPI) promotes the continued
revitalization of Arizona’s urban core. Through collaboration between businesses, City of Phoenix leadership and community
