Construction Careers Academy Brochures Students interested in the Construction Management program have a strong desire to set schedules, manage resources, administer budgets, and organize people. Construction managers serve as leaders in the construction industry and on the job site. The Construction Management program focuses on management concepts used in the construction industry. Students in the program will gain valuable skills needed to develop leadership, management, and organizational skills related to managing and making decisions about construction projects. Students will develop the skills to see a project through from start to finish. Students will have the opportunity to engage in real-world applications and collaborate with some of the industry’s top rated construction firms and work with construction managers who have been successful in the industry. The program focuses on architecture and design concepts used in the construction industry. Students in the program will gain valuable skills needed to design buildings and structures from concept to completion. Students will use industry recognized computer software, design practices, and architectural concepts. Students will have the opportunity to engage in real-world applications and collaborate with some of the industry’s top-rated architectural firms and work with architects who have been successful in the industry. Students will have the opportunity to engage in real-world applications, collaborate with some of the industry’s top rated business professionals, and work with plumbers, welders, and construction managers. Electricians read blueprints, use different types of hand and power tools to run and protect wiring. Electricians may also use ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, and cable testers to find problems and ensure that components are working properly. Heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers—often called HVAC technicians—work on heating, ventilation, cooling, and refrigeration systems that control the temperature and air quality in buildings. The Construction Technology program focuses on training and equipping students for a career in carpentry. The Academy’s Construction Technology program is unique in that the curriculum is highly vested in project-based learning. Students will have the opportunity to engage in real-world applications and collaborate with some of the industry’s top- rated business professionals. Upon completion of the Construction Technology - Carpentry program students will be prepared to enter the workforce post high school, attend a two-year college and earn an Associate’s Degree and/or participate in an approved apprenticeship program to further their apprenticeship training hours. The program is unique in that the curriculum is highly vested in project based learning. Students will have the opportunity to engage in real-world applications, collaborate with some of the industry’s top rated business professionals, and work with plumbing and welding companies. Upon completion of the PPW program, students will be prepared to enter the work force post high school, attend a two-year college, earn an Associate’s Degree and/or a certification in a field of their choice. Since CCA is an approved Department of Labor Full Student-to-Apprenticeship Program, there is an additional option to continue an apprenticeship with a qualifying company. Students will design, build, and test projects using industry- recognized practices. Students will engage in real-world applications and collaborate with some of the industry’s top engineers in the construction industry through job shadowing and internship opportunities.
