Transit Signal Priority on Douglas

• In 2011, the project was reactivated by BC Transit, City of Victoria, Municipality of Saanich and Ministry of Transportation of Infrastructure 

• The traffic signal controllers and software are almost updated • The buses that are equipped with transponders are being updated in March• Testing is scheduled to occur in March or April

1. That Councils request BC Transit to seek funding to complete the Douglas q g p gCorridor Transit study including the identification of preferred routing (median, side running, etc)

2. That BC Transit continue to pursue provincial funding for the implementation of rail based transit on the Douglas Corridor

3.  That Councils request BC Transit to make the Downtown to Uptown phase of rapid transit the first priority for the route.
