Indie rock band Aerial have recently split after 7 years on the rock music scene. The band's lead singer, Sienna, originally from Manchester, is here today to discuss the next steps of her career and what it's been like going it alone after the split from the band. Hi Sienna how are you today? I'm great thanks. Firstly, was the split with the band amicable, or was any hard feelings? After 7 years we all just decided to go our seperate ways, there has been no hard feelings and we're still all very close on a personal level. Did you have reservations about becoming a solo artist? At first I was in two minds about my future, but I decided i'm not ready to give up music just yet. What have you been up to since the band's split? I have been focusing alot on writing and recording my new album, spending alot of time in the studio and working with my closest friends. Obviously because this is my first solo album I want it to be a real representation of me as a person. Can you give us any clues about the album? Not just yet! The album is slightly different compared to the previous work with the band, but thats all I can say for now. Apart from writing and recording your new music, what do you like to do in your spare time? I really just enjoy spending time with my family and friends, because I don't get to see much of them what with the band's recent world tour the past few years have been quite hectic. Being a solo artist, because all of the music related decisions fall on me, it's alot easier to plan my work schedule around my personal life. There was rumours last year about a relationship between you and Chad (former band member), can you comment on this? Me and Chad are very good friends and I still see him quite often, he's doing his own thing now though so theres definitely no further personal relationship going on between us. Thats a shame. You played Leeds 2013, is there any chance of you doing this again as a solo artist?

Leeds last year was amazing but definitely not this year, I don't have any of my own material out yet and for legal reasons i'm not allowed to perform any of the band's old tracks, so yeah, not this year.

Legal reasons? Can you give us more info?

No, *Makes quiet joke about gag order and laughs to self* not right now.

Can you tell us about your law suit last year?

Yeah, Courtney Love tried to sue me for slander because of an off-comment I made about her last year, the less said about that the better.

Do you get on with Courtney?

She tried to sue me for slander, obviously I don't like her.

*laughs* Ok, is there anything you think your fans should know?

Just to watch this space, my album will be out very soon.
