1 Introduction
1.1 IntendedUseoftheDoseAwareSystemTheDoseAwareSystemisanelectronicX‐raydosemonitoringsystem.Theintendeduseistoimprovetheawarenessofpeople,whoworkwithorareinthepresenceofX‐Rayimagingequipment,abouttheiroccupationaldose(alsoknownasstaffdose).Theawarenessfocuseson:
• agraphicalvisualizationofthereal‐timestaffdoseratewhileworkingwithX‐Rayequipmentinexaminationroomsduringmedicalprocedures;
• instantaccesstohistoricalstaffdoseforreportingandanalysispurposes.
ThebenefitsoftheDoseAwareSystemareto:
• makepeopleawareoftheirreceivedstaffdoseduringclinicalworkwithX‐rayimagingequipment;
• instantlyvisualizetheresultofreducingmeasuresofoccupationaldoseby,forexample,changingaperson’spositionintheexaminationroom.
TheDoseAwareSystemmaynotbeusedasalegalstaffdoserecordingsolution.TheDoseAwareSystemisnotintendedforpatientuse.
NOTE:DonotexposethePDMsindirectX‐raybeam.Theyaredesignedtobeexposedtoscatteredradiationonly.
NOTE:TheDoseManager,DoseView,CradleandPDMRackarenotintendedtobeusedinsideexaminationrooms.

• Redzonedoseindicationsshouldnotoccurduringnormalprocedures.Ifyouareexposedtoradiationintheredzone,youneedtotakeactionstominimizethedoseexposure.
WhenaPDMmovesoutofrangeoftheBaseStation,itsbuttonwillremainvisibleintheOnlineViewfortwominutes.Thebuttonwillthenremaingrayedoutforanothereightminutesbeforeitdisappears.Thisfeatureallowspeopletotemporarilyleavetheroomwithoutloosingtheirpositioninthelist.Whenabuttonisgrayedout,itisnotpossibletoaccesstheWalk‐UpView.
IfnoPDMhasbeenwithinrangeoftheBaseStationfor30minutes,theOnlineViewwillenterscreensavermode.InscreensavermodetheBaseStationdisplaysablackscreen.TheBaseStationscreenstartsupwhenaPDMconnectstotheBaseStationorwhentheusertapsthescreen.

5.1 IntroductionThePDMisanactivedosemeterdesignedformaintenance‐freeusagethroughoutitslifetime.

10.1.5 IntendedUseandCompatibilityDonotusetheproductforanypurposeotherthanthoseforwhichitisintended.DonotusetheproductwithanyproductotherthanthatwhichPhilipsHealthcarerecognizesascompatible.Operationoftheproductforunintendedpurposes,orwithincompatibleproduct,couldleadtofatalorotherseriousinjury.

OtherelectronicproductsexceedingthelimitsdefinedinsuchEMCstandardscould,underunusualcircumstances,affecttheoperationoftheproduct.
MedicalelectricalproductsneedsspecialprecautionsregardingEMC,andneedstobeinstalledandputintoserviceaccordingtoEMCinformationprovidedintheaccompanyingdocuments.
Theuseofaccessoriesandcablesotherthanthosespecified,mayresultinincreasedemissionordecreasedimmunitylevels.
Theproductshouldnotbeusedadjacenttoorstackedwithotherproductsandthatifadjacentorstackeduseisnecessary,itshouldbeobservedtoverifynormaloperation.
