• Instead of disposing it, donate it to food banks/homeless shelters

• Food waste= wasteful use of chemicals (fertilizers, pesticides)

• More fuel use for transportation, more rotting food (this creates more methane gas)

• Drinking water can be contaminated from solid waste landfills
