Donations. The mining contractors and miners claim that

they donate on the improvement and betterment of barangay Mainit.

They allot money to build infrastructures in the barangay like

the pathways, roads, and public pools. They provides what the

barangay needs because they care for the beautification of their

barangay.

The researchers interviewed the miners and mining

contractors, if they donate on the beautification of their

barangay for example roads or any infrastructures, then the

miners says they do, if their salary is high they contribute a

little amount for the projects of the barangay. The mining

contractors also says they donate to the church and on other

projects of the barangay because the barangay official do

solicitation.

Then the researchers also asked the barangay official for

confirmation, if the mining contractors and miners donate some

funds for the construction of projects, then the four barangay

officials the researchers interviewed says that they do donate on

the construction of the projects, they help in constructing

pathways and some public pools and if the barangay official

solicit for building infrastructures they obliged and give money.

The researchers asked a follow-up question, if the mining

contractors and miners allot some money to the barangay, then

they says that they do sometimes if their marketed ore was



satisfactory then they allot money for the improvement and

sustainable well-being of the barangay. They do not have any

receipts to provide on paper, but they says that they have

receipts but through verbal.

The researchers also asked the villagers if all what have

been said above is true because they are the one who are

benefitted with it, the researchers asked, if the mining

contractors and miners really donate to the beautification of the

barangay then they says yes they do, they pay the workers who

conduct spring-cleaning in the barangay, they contribute some

money to build pathways, and public pool and for the other

projects of the barangay. Then they also donate money to the

church for renovation.

ased on the observation of the researchers, on the

infrastructures of barangay Mainit, the pathways going to the

households of the people are cemented, the church where they

claim that they donate for beautification but as the researchers

saw the church in outside form, it was old and as is there is no

money for painting or for renovation but the researchers never go

inside the church, around the village is clean because the people

reside there are responsible enough to clean their own sides and

they have programs to maintain cleanliness in their barangay like

spring-cleaning. To the roads going to barangay Mainit, some are

cemented but others are not, when the researchers went there in



barangay Mainit there is a typhoon, the roads going to Mainit are

dangerous when it rains because some roads are not cemented it is

muddy. !lso, they donate on the construction of the public

pools, they have many public pools where they can take a bathe.

Their claim is true, the mining contractors and miners do donate

to the beautification of their barangay.

!s to the implication to the community, the barangay where

they reside improved, developed and progress through the help of

the mining contractors and miners in allotting money for the

beautification of the barangay. Many tourist will be heartened to

go because the community maintains its relaxed surroundings.
