Once you have finished shopping, keep yourself protected by:

Check for product recallsGo to productrecall.campaign.gov.uk and type your product into the search bar. It takes two minutes and is the easiest way to check if what you’re buying has ever been recalled.

Consider who you’re buying fromIf you’re shopping online, know who to contact if you have any issues. Get as much information on the manufacturer or importer as you can, especially if you’re buying from a marketplace or secondary seller.

Read the safety warningsAlways read the warnings and instructions. Some products, such as toys, also have age restrictions and guidelines. Follow recall notice instructions. If you’re not sure what to do, contact the Citizens Advice consumer helpline: 03454 04 05 06
