Word has reached Malta from J. D.Larson, cashier of the First NationalBank at Ronan, Mont., that LetcherLemon. an old timer here, and MissSiddia Frazher of Whitefish, Mont.,secured a marriage license at Kalis-pell December 12. It is not learnedpositively that the nuptial knot hasbeen tied, but this much informationhas been received with great sur-prise by Mr. Lemon's friends whohave regarded him as invulnerable tothe encroachments of the little wingedgod.
The senior pupils of the high schoolgave afarwell party to George An-crews before his departure for Kalis-pell last Friday evening at the homeof Miss Vira Martin. Games andmusic until supper time made thehours pass quickly, merrily, and eachboy found the name of the girl hewas to escort to supper in the shellof an English walnut. The deliciousrefreshments were much enjoyed andafterward the entire party accom-panied George to the depot where heboarded No. 3 for Kalispell where hewill attend a commercial college.
Mrs. Hales and her daughter, MissMildred Watson, after spending sev-eral days in our city, will leave soonwith Mr. Hales for their ranch homethirty-five mles northeast of Malta. In speaking of the past productiveseason, Mrs. Hales said they had notattempted any "dry farming" stunts, but were greatly pleased with whattheir garden produced, raising andmaturing nearly every kind of gar-den vegetable. Out of thirty-eightpumpkins that matured, one pump-kin distinguished itself by growingto be five feet in circumference andso heavy that two men failed in lift-ing it. The catalpa trees that Mrs.Hales is experimenting with, grewvery rapidly this first season of theirtransplantation, and met winter con-ditions in proper shape.

TOM SUBSIDESOh, Tabby, I sure did not mean to offend,Nor was I concerned how your visions did trend. With my heart full of pain, my eyes full of tears,I sorrow to think that you lost your poor deprs.Don't blame me for snatching their Mousling or
(rat,Oh, no, my dear Tabby. I'm not that kind of a cat.Much rather would I, for your kittens provide,And hunt for their dinner with you by my side; But for me, alas, there is no such a boon,As to walk the back fence, by the light of the
[moon,With you, Madam Puss, to join me in song,And awaken nights echos, as we stroll along. When to my bass voice in cheerful meow,Your soprano, would blend in full toned mew-yow.It was not indigestion, nor yet was it booze,That caused me to answer your plaintiff mews; For with poor, lonely Tabbies, I never would spat. But always behaved like a gentleman cat.If you'll be real good and forgive me this time,I never again will break into rhyme; In fact, my dear puss, I did it to tease,But find that my wit can't compare with Maltese,So I'll lie by the fire, leave the back fence for you,Nor answer again your plaintive, me-ew.

Cole's Hot Blast Draft on top of the fire burns the coal from the top-bumsthe gas, which is wasted with all other stoves.
The force of this down draft forces the heat to the base which is made ofsteel-cannot bum out- and heats the floor.
Thousands of testimonials have been written regarding the base beatingqualities of
Cole's Original Hot Blast HeaterThe ideal heating stove is one which radiates all the heat thrown off from
the fuel-into the rooms-Instead of letting it go up the chimney. The durable beater is the one which will withstand the severe use, year
after year, which a heating stove is necessarily subjected to. Sheet steel isthe quickest radiator of heat and is used as radiating surface only In Cole's HotBlast heater. Wherever the fuel comes in contact with the linings-only firstquality gray cast iron is used.
Cast iron withstands the wear of the heat from active combustion betterthan any other material, and the large, sensitive, sheet metal body and bassradiate all the heat into the rooms.
