1. Educational QualificationsYour educational qualifications are one of the qualifiers to get you a job. It also helps recruiters filter candidates they do not require.

2. ExperienceYour experience is most searched for trait in a CV. The recruiter searches for candidates with some prior experience in the field they are applying for. CVs with a good past experience record are valued.

3. LocationRecruiters tend to see where you are located and how close by or far you stay from the company. Mostly, candidates who stay far from the location of the company tend to refuse offers. So recruiters prefer to contact candidates who stay near the company.

4. Brand Yourself WellIt's important to brand yourself. So start the CV with your name written in big and bold letters. Then clearly mention what is your area of expertise. This creates a greater impact and if it matches the profile you are applying for, it adds value. However, mention it only if you are applying for the same profile you have experience in.

5. OrderAlways put the most impressive part of your CV first. If you have better educational qualifications than your recent work experience, put that first. Since this is the first thing the recruiter reads, it creates an impression.

6. SkillsThe skills you mention in the CV must match with the profile you are applying for and the skills the recruiter is looking for. But the skills should not just be on paper. Recruiters make sure they ask you about the skills too.

7. Volunteering ExperienceCVs that have volunteering experience are given more value. They add weight. If you have any volunteering experience, mention it as it catches to recruiter's eyes.

8. Honours & AwardsIf you won awards or honours for anything, you must mention them as they represent your strengths and they are your asset. If you have more than three awards, you must mention them in the beginning.
