Mathenratics.Tests 1Available

. in theUnited Statesand Canada

THIS PAN -ILET is a revision of a publication first published bythe National Council of Teachers of Mathematics in 1959 andrevised i n1976. Several of the tests listed in the 1976 pamphlet areno io.-iger available.

The publication has been expanded to include mathematicstests available in Canada. The Canadian listings are interwovenwith the United States listings. Several of the Canadian listingsare identical to, or adaptations of, tests published in the UnitedStates. The publishers or Canadian, distributors of such tests aregiven.

The primary purpose of this pamphlet is to provide a compre-hensive listing of mathematics tests available in the United Statesand Canada that may assist educators in meeting their evaluationnerds. The types of tests included are listed in the Contents.Tests covering mathematics from the primary school through thef lathy° years of college are included. Tests designed for collegeplacement are included in the "College-rewed" category. Thiscategory includes a number of listings that would be appropriateror program evaluation of guidance at the high school or juniorhigh school levels. Although the current listing is intended to becomplete, new tests are always being developed. The "Directoryof Publishers') on page 29 should be useful in getting infor na-tion on newly developed tests. Both tanked States and Canadianpublishers are listed.

The listing of a test does not constitute an endorsement by theNational Council of Teachers of Mathematics or by ERIC.Teachers and curricultm specialists who are interested in aparticular test should request a sample copy from the publisherand ezamrne it carefully for relevance to the particular useintended. i

Information on the selection'and use of tests is available in thereferences cited in the final section of this pamphlet. Included inthese are the eight volumes of the Mental MeasurementsYearbook series, constituting the major reference work on tests, with comprehensive lists and reviews. When a reference is madeto this source in the test listing, it appears immediately below thepublisher's name with a roman numeral identifying the entry(not the page). Under the AMA. Test, foi example, "VII, 740" isgiven after the name of the publisher. This means that a reviewof, or referegge to, this fest is found in the seventh yearbookunder entry 740. .

Information for each test is given in the following order:
