Prerequisites The prerequisites for the Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) degree is a master's or professional doctoral degree in acupuncture or acupuncture and Oriental medicine with a minimum 45 hours of fundamental Chinese herbal medicine coursework from an ACAOM-candidate or ACAOM-accredited program. Students who do not have sufficient coursework hours in the fundamental Chinese herbal medicine will be required to complete such work as a corequisite for the program. Students are required to be licensed as an acupuncturist in Washington or their home state by the end of the first quarter in the program. The minimum cumulative GPA for required courses is 2.75.
