Estimados Feligreses,
Hoy escuchamos a Jesús fundando Su Iglesia en Pedro y dándole las llaves del Reino de los Cielos.
Estas llaves y el poder de perdonar pecados se han transmitido a través de la Sucesión Apostólica
durante 2000 años hasta el Papa Francisco, el Obispo Cahill y todos los sacerdotes que han
ordenado. Para mí, personalmente, el Sacramento de la Reconciliación es mi sacramento favorito, ya
que puedo ver literalmente la curación que ofrece Cristo. Eso no es una curación que encontrará solo
en su habitación hablando con Dios. Muchas veces, por ignorancia, la gente dirá: "Puedo
simplemente decirle mis pecados a Jesús". Sí, puede, pero Él ha designado a hombres para que
hablen en su nombre y digan: "Estás perdonado, vete en paz". Ese es el papel de los obispos y
sacerdotes, hacer presente a Cristo a su pueblo. Si ha estado alejado del Sacramento de la
Reconciliación durante mucho tiempo, vuelve a casa. Dale tu pecado y vergüenza a Jesús. Pon tu
carga al pie de la cruz. Escuche sus palabras de consuelo y reconciliación.
Lo que me gustaría para ustedes, mis feligreses, es sentir la alegría de los estudiantes de 2do grado
que se confesaron la primavera pasada. Después de la confesión, estaban sonriendo, se sintieron
bien, felices y en paz, solo pregúnteles. Lo mismo se nos ofrece a los adultos, pero muchas veces nos
olvidamos de las gracias que hemos recibido de jóvenes.
A menudo olvidamos que nuestros pecados no son más grandes que la misericordia de Dios, así que
por favor no hagas tu pecado más grande que Dios. Dios nos envió a Su Hijo con el único propósito
de reconciliarnos y perdonar nuestros pecados. Quiere perdonar el mayor pecado que hayas
cometido. Proclame la grandeza de Dios llevándole su peor pecado para que lo perdone. ¡Entonces
realmente pueden compartir con todos cuán grande es nuestro Dios!
La semana que viene tendrá el privilegio de poder acudir al obispo David Fellhauer para confesarse.
Estaré de vacaciones en las montañas y él ofrecerá el Sacramento de la Reconciliación el sábado de 4
a 5 pm, así como la misa de vigilia del sábado.
Oren por las vocaciones de su familia para que Cristo pueda ministrar su misericordia a su pueblo a
través de los sacerdotes que ha llamado desde su concepción para ser ministros de misericordia y
reconciliación.

Dear Parishioners,
Today we hear Jesus founding His Church on Peter and giving him the keys to the Kingdom of
Heaven. These keys and the power to forgive sins have been passed down through Apostolic
Succession for 2,000 years down to Pope Francis, Bishop Cahill, and all of the priests they have
ordained. For me personally, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is my favorite sacrament as I can
literally see the healing that Christ offers. That is not healing that you will find alone in your room
talking to God. So many times, out of ignorance, people will say, "I can just tell my sins to Jesus."
Yes you can, but He has appointed men to speak on His behalf and say "You are forgiven, go in
peace." That is the role of the bishops and priests, to make Christ present to His people. If you
have been away from the Sacrament of Reconciliation for a long time, come back home. Give
your sin and shame to Jesus. Lay your burden down at the foot of the cross. Hear His words of
comfort and reconciliation.
What I would like for you, my parishioners, is to feel the joy of the 2nd graders who went to
confession this past spring. After confession they were smiling, felt good, happy, and at peace -
just ask them. The same thing is offered to us adults, but oftentimes we forget the graces we
have received as youth.
We often forget that our sins are not bigger than God's mercy, so please do not make your sin
bigger than God. God sent His Son to us for the sole purpose of reconciliation and forgiving us
our sins. He desires to forgive the greatest sin you have committed. Proclaim the greatness of
God by bringing your worst sin to Him for forgiveness. Then you can really share with all how
great is our God!
Next week you will have the privilege of being able to come to Bishop David Fellhauer for
confession. I will be on vacation in the mountains and he will offer the Sacrament of
Reconciliation on Saturday from 4-5 PM as well as the Saturday vigil Mass.
Please pray for vocations from your family so that Christ may minister His mercy to His people
through the priests He has called from their conception to be ministers of mercy and
reconciliation.
