ZERO PRODUCT PROPERTY

For any real numbers a and b, if ab = 0,

then either a = 0 or b = 0.

To solve a quadratic equation by FACTORING:

•1) Set the equation equal to zero (collect all terms on one side of the equation)

•2) Completely factor the equation.

•3) Set each factor equal to zero and solve.
