PREPARE SUMPThe height at which you hang your towers is dependent on the size of the sump.
Measure your sump height. Hold a Tower above the sump, and add height of the tower (and hanger) to the height of the sump. You want about 1” - 1 1/2” of the tower to rest inside the sump.
This will keep the towers secure and allow them to drain directly into the sump.

Height calculations for:
3 foot towers: y = 42.5”5 foot towers: y = 66.5”
PREPARE SUMPHold your towers above the sump so that you can outline the holes that you will cut.
The towers will sit in the outermost corners of the sump, ideally at least 13” apart front to back, and 5-8” side to side.
Use a sharpie to outline where you will make your cuts in the lid of the sump.

You can build your frame with PVC pipe or with wood.
Take four 5’ Upright PVCs and connect them to two 2’ crossbars using 90 degree PVC connectors.
PVC instructions:
Step 1:
Connect the two sides you have created together using two 3’ PVC pieces.
Step 2:
Connect the two length bars with an additional PVC for added stability.

The frame should be tall enough for the towers and sump to fit underneath. We have provided our dimensions that we used, but keep in mind as your sump size changes you will need to adjust yourmeasurements.

Wood instructions:
Build two rectangles that will act as the top and bottom of the frame.
Step 1:
Connect four 5’ Uprights on the outsides of the frames.
Step 2:

TIPDepending on the season and where your hydroponic system will be located, you may need lighting.
If you plan to use artificial lighting, be sure to leave at least 15” from the front of the tower to the edge of the light.
This spacing will also depend on the size of the crop that you are growing.
LIGHTSUsing the clips that came with your T5 lights, mount the lights vertically to your crossbars.
Alternate the male and female ends so that you can connect the two light rods together.
Test that your lights work by connecting them and plugging them in.
IRRIGATIONYou are going to use 1/2” black tubing to pump water into your system.
Loop the tubing on top of the frame and ziptie it where you want it.
IRRIGATIONOnce you have your tubing in place, go through and mark where you will want your drip emitters.
Punch holes where you marked, and insert the drip emitters.
Connect 1/4” poly tubing into the drip emitters. These will run directly into the towers.

PUT IT TOGETHERNext, we will want to get everything set up and connected together.
Hang your towers from the crossbars, and fit them into the holes you cut into the sump.
Plant your towers!
Hang your towers from the crossbars, and fit them into the holes you cut into the sump.
Place the 250 Active Aqua pump in the sump and attach the irrigation line to the fitting on top of the pump.
Fill the Sump with water, and add your nutrient solution.
PUT IT TOGETHERMake sure your lights are hung, and plugged in.
Get growing and have fun!
