The Fortune

Cookies of

Love

There are so many

ways to express your

love on Valentine’s

day. But nothing is

more precious than

the words “I love

you”. But why to tell

it when you may

write it down and

hide it in a fortune

cookie?

So here are simple in-

structions how to make

paper fortune cookies.

You can make one and

serve it with the coffee

in the morning or you

can make about 15– 20

and use them as a table

decoration.

Materials needed:

* origami, scrapbook or

colored paper

* white paper for for-

tune saying

* scissors

* butter knife

* ruler

* compasses

* glue

Tutorial:

Step 1 Use the com-

passes and cut out a cir-

cle. Also cut out the for-

tunes.

Step 2 Using a ruler as a

guide run the backside

of the butter knife along

the circle.

Step 3 Fold the circle in

half, patterned sides

together, and create a

good crease. Unfold.

Step 4 Open the paper

so the pattern side faces

up, and turn the paper

so that the crease is ver-

tical to you.

Step 5 Gently fold circle

together, lining up the

crease so that each side

is even, but do not

crease in the center at

this time.

Step 6 Place fortune

cookie strip in the mid-

dle of the cookie.

Step 7 Holding the

edges together, place a

finger in the center of

the crease and fold the

sides of the cookie to-

ward you. Continue

folding until both sides

of the cookie touch.

Step 8 You may use a

glue to bring the sides

together.

Your cookie is ready!

Colors

The first thing you shall

consider is what color to

be the decoration. Ac-

cording to Feng Shui

most suitable colors for

loving couple are spring

colors—green, yellow,

blue, cream and laven-

der. These colors repre-

sent the health and well-

being.

Candles

Candles are obligatory

element of every roman-

tic (and not only) deco-

ration. Several votives in

glass candle holders will

give the room a nice

glow when the lights are

turned out.

If your bathroom is big

enough you may arrange

several candlesticks or

several votives in an at-

tractive grouping and

scatter rose petals

around them.

Choose candles with

your favorite scents

such as vanilla, rose or

lavender. This will set

the mood even more to

take a relaxing bath on

Valentine’s Day.

Soaps

Purchase decorative

heart-shaped soaps.

Dis-’plate’ your love!

A romantic breakfast

in bed on Valentine’s

day? Obligatory! But

this time be more

creative and surprise

your soul-mate with

a wish on the plate.

This idea is really simple

but very attractive. A

really nice way to create

a special mood in a spe-

cial day!

Materials needed:

* dishes

* paintbrush

*edible dish paint

Tutorial:

Step 1 To prepare the

paint mix:

* 3 tablespoons of pow-

dered sugar

* 1 teaspoon of water

* 2 drops of liquid food

coloring.

Step 2 Decorate the

dishes!

Be bold in your draw-

ings—if you make a

mistake while painting

you can always lick the

plate and start over :)

You can draw hearts,

roses or butterflies (if

you are good in paint-

ing) or you can just

write down the first

letters of your names.

When the party is over

you can simply wash

the dishes and the

―paint‖ will be re-

moved.
