Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) is committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for our scholars and staff. Over the last few years PGCPS has been working diligently at District Heights ES to make repairs to our air system. Some of the enhancements and repairs include:
● 2 new chillers (cooling systems)● Work on the exhaust pipes● Installation of new handling units● Abatement Treatments for critical needs areas● Dehumidifiers provided for every classroom
Despite the efforts put forth, we continue to experience difficulty as repairs are being made. We had a recent air quality test and the results indicated that until the air conditioning installation was completed, there would still be a concern with moisture in the building.
IMPACT• Students and staff would be relocated to
Forestville HS located at 7001 Beltz Drive, Forestville, MD 20743 (6 minutes from District Heights ES).
• Transportation would be provided to all students from a neighborhood bus stop.
• School start time would change to 9:35-3:45 PM.
