D i s c o v e r y L a n d Fall lesson 9 OCT. 29, 2017 “Me First!” In today’s lesson, your kids were challenged to think about what it means to love God and others before themselves. It sounds simple on paper, but when put to the test of life, it can be hard to accomplish. Putting others first is a shift from the world’s standards. How is your family doing with truly loving God and others before yourselves? This struggle began back in Genesis when God highlighted the lives of Abram and Lot. Talk with your kids about what they learned in class and see if your family can apply what they learned this week. Take the Family Challenge The Love Factor — Find a glass jar and coins and place them in a central location in your home. Throughout the week, when you see someone truly loving others or expressing their love for God, put a coin in the glass jar. At the end of the week, decide as a family what you want to do with the money in the jar. Go out for ice cream, rent a family movie, or put others first and donate it to a charity. You Did It! When you’ve completed this week’s Family Challenge, bring this coupon back to your teacher and receive five Tracker Tickets! Discovery Land Fall lesson 9 OCT. 29, 2017

“Me First!”In today’s lesson, your kids were challenged to think about what it means to love God and others before themselves.

Take the Family ChallengeThe Love Factor — Find a glass jar and coins and place them in a central location in your home. Throughout the week, when you see someone truly loving others or expressing their love for God, put a coin in the glass jar. At the end of the week, decide as a family what you want to do with the money in the jar. Go out for ice cream, rent a family movie, or put others first and donate it to a charity.
